Fall Meeting

Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on the Way People Learn and Build Careers

Program:

Join PACDA (Pennsylvania Career Development Association) for an exciting workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the future of work.

As career coaches, we will be increasingly challenged to understand how AI systems disrupt the nature of work by mimicking human behavior. But does AI mean only that robots are destined to take away jobs from people? That’s one way to look at it. Another is that automation may create more jobs than it displaces. By offering new tools for entrepreneurs, it may also create new lines of business that we can’t imagine now. Just as important is to grasp how AI has impacted the recruiting and selection process within organizations. Job candidates are screened in or out by increasingly powerful applicant tracking systems. Often, candidates may not encounter a human in the initial phases of the selection process because they are asked to complete video recordings or multiple assessments. How do we prepare our clients for these challenges?

Presenter:

Michelle Caffrey is an award-winning journalist for the Philadelphia Business Journal who writes about technology and education.

She has authored numerous articles on Artificial Intelligence and hosted last year’s Journal sponsored “Artificial Intelligence & How It Will Transform Business” Conference. A graduate of Drew University, Michelle is also a recipient of the prestigious National Press Foundation’s “What’s Next in Artificial Intelligence” Fellowship.

We look forward to her sharing her insights and learnings about this transformational technology.
