Description:
A little under 13 months ago, the news media reported the case of a previously unreported virus in a 35-year old man in Snohomish County, Washington. While that patient made a full recovery, what has evolved since then has been the biggest pandemic to hit the US in more than a century. The impact of this pandemic disease on employers and the HR profession has been nothing short of devastating. At various points in the course of this crisis, more than 75% of employers around the country were on some form of “shelter-in-place” or work-from-home order, more than 97% of our children of school age have had to attend classes virtually from home, and business conditions have been on a total roller coaster — and certainly not the fun kind.
In this session we will review the course of the pandemic and its effect on the workplace, with an emphasis on Human Capital Management — the intersection of HR, talent management and related practices with the technology, systems and services that support them. Topics will include both the current compliance landscape of coronavirus-related regulations, as well as the best practice tools available to us operating in the “near-term abnormal!”
